PUBBLICAZIONI
This book describes the emotion of the grand and mysterious archaeological discovery made by the Bishop Mattia Santoro in his garden, in Polignano, in March of 1785. He discovered a big tomb that Sir William Hamilton visited, described and named Grand Mausolée.

In this Grand Mausolée the Bishop Santoro found more than 64 vases and other antiquities. Especially, four large Vases, high more than a meter and in perfect conditions: a volute krater, which will be called the Grande Vaso di Capodimonte, two similar great amphora and a loutrophoros. The Bishop donated the vases to King Ferdinand IV.

This book demonstrates incontrovertibly the origin of the Grande Vaso di Capodimonte from Polignano, reconstructs, for the first time, every step of the Grande Vaso di Capodimonte, from Polignano to the Metropolitan Museum in New York.

This book shows the images in high resolution, front and back, of the four big Vases found in Polignano together, images perfectly concordant with the description of the Bishop in the letter sent to Giacinto Dragonetti, letter also included in this book.

It also contains numerous new details related to the discovery of the Vases and their path, together with the articles of the international press, and a scoop, an unknown news: a discovery near Polignano in the 1785 of a subterranean "Apartment".

Demonstrates the origin from Polignano of the four big Vases. No one of which brought the name of Polignano as place of discovery. Includes the request of rettification and reassignment of the name of Polignano sent by the author to the Museums of New, York, Paris, Frankfurt and Naples.
